Please review this important reminder regarding afternoon transportation changes. This is necessary to ensure our office staff get students home safely each afternoon!

📚 Join us in celebrating Read Across America Week by decorating in the style of Dr. Seuss next Monday, March 2nd. We love seeing how excited Ekron students get about reading!

Ekron Elementary would like to extend a warm welcome to Ms. Savannah Sooter. She is our new school-based therapist with Healthy Kids Clinic, serving Meade County Schools. At this time Ms. Savannah will be in our building twice a week. Please contact Mrs. Matthews if you have any questions. Below is a greeting from Ms. Savannah!
I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. I’m Savannah Sooter, the school-based therapist with Healthy Kids Clinic, serving Meade County Schools.
I’m here to support students when emotional, mental health, or life stressors—at school or at home—start to get in the way of learning, behavior, or connection. Often, school behavior is what we see first, but my role focuses on the whole child and what might be happening underneath the surface.
I commonly work with students experiencing anxiety, big emotions, grief or loss, trauma or chronic stress, and home or family stress that shows up at school.
My work may include individual sessions, family support, or small groups. My approach is trauma-informed, EMDR-trained, DBT-informed, and always developmentally appropriate, with the goal of helping students regulate, build skills, and return to class more ready to learn.
Referrals are facilitated through the school counselor, Mrs. Matthews. Once a referral is received, I’ll work directly with parents or guardians to obtain consent and complete paperwork.
Warmly,
Savannah Sooter, LCSW
