The newest episode of Greenwave: The Stories of Our Community revisits the legacy of the 1987 Meade County High School Marching Band, a season remembered for its championship success, its spirit of unity, and its lasting impact on generations of students.
The story features Bruce Soderstrom, Director of Bands; Dr. Sam Melloy, educator and administrator; and Amy Hamilton, a member of the 1987 band. It captures a defining moment for Meade County Schools.
“It wasn’t just about winning,” said Superintendent Mark Martin. “It was about the standard they set — for each other, their school, and this community.”
